Andrew Bailey’s letter to the governor-elect didn’t discuss TRAP laws that made the procedure virtually impossible to obtain even before Missouri’s ban.

The leader of Planned Parenthood Great Plains says the move is a ploy to prevent a Jackson County judge from potentially knocking down other abortion restrictions. Andrew Bailey says his office will continue to enforce laws requiring parental consent and outlawing coercion.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said the state can still enforce some abortion restrictions even after voters lifted the state's ban earlier this month, though he didn't weigh in on the constitutionality of a host of laws that are currently the focus of a lawsuit.

On the eve of a Wednesday hearing seeking to strike down most Missouri abortion restrictions, GOP lawmakers and anti-abortion activists assembled outside five Planned Parenthood clinics around the state to call on the courts to leave abortion regulations in place.

Rep. Justin Sparks filed a resolution Monday that would go before voters, asking them to block the right to an abortion.

In the next 24 hours, it could be determined when abortion will become legal in Missouri and how many restrictions will be in place.
