New York Jets Add 26-Year-Old QB to Roster for 2026
The New York Jets need a new quarterback, but they've just added a 26-year-old who was once drafted in the fourth round.
FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey (WKBN) – Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bailey Zappe was signed by the New York Jets to a reserve/future contract on Monday. Zappe just completed fourth NFL season out of Western Kentucky. He spent the majority of the 2025 campaign on Cleveland’s practice squad.
For the Jets, they rolled with Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and Brady Cook at quarterback. Things didn't go well and the undrafted rookie finished the campaign as the team's starter. With Zappe joining the fold, the Jets should have at least a solid No. 3 with the franchise heading into the offseason.
