Deputies arrived at Coats Bend Circle in a rural area of the county around 12:30 p.m. in response to a shooting incident, according to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened on Coats Bend Circle around 12:30 p.m. Deputies with the Etowah Co. Sheriff’s Department found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. One person was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital where they died, while the other died at the scene.
