The Boise State men’s basketball team shook off a slow start at the inaugural College Basketball Crown to defeat George Washington, 89-59, in Monday’s opening-round game. The Broncos (25-10) trailed 9-3 at the under-12 TV timeout but rallied back to seize a 32-26 halftime lead.
Butler’s opening game against Utah was very much an up-and-down game, with the Bulldogs winning 86-84 while watching the Utes collect 38 points in the paint and hit 10 3-pointers. The Broncos posted 52 PITP and knocked down nine triples versus GW.
The inaugural College Basketball Crown from Las Vegas continued Tuesday with four more exciting games. The marquee matchup of the day featured Villanova facing Colorado. The Wildcats advanced to the next round of the CBC after recording a blowout 85-64 win over the Buffaloes.
Boise State scored 27 points off turnovers to George Washington’s five. A much-improved shooting performance in the second half also opened the gap; Boise State finished 36-for-72 (50%) from the field and 9-for-25 (36%) from beyond the arc.
