White House officials have said Trump is considering reducing the tariff level after some progress from Mexico and Canada on reducing illegal immigration and the flow of fentanyl into the U.S.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Trump will decide Tuesday afternoon whether to proceed with, reduce or postpone tariff plans that have been on hold.

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to decide on Monday what levels of tariffs he will impose early on Tuesday on Canada and Mexico amid last-minute negotiations over border security and efforts to halt the inflow of fentanyl opioids.
