The Hartford event is anticipating as many as 5,000 participants as individuals around the state plan to rally to defend democracy.

No Kings' rallies are scheduled in 33 locations across CT on Saturday, part of a nationwide protest against the Trump administration.

There are more than 1,500 protests planned across the nation Saturday for the “No Kings” mobilization effort, including 30 protests in Connecticut, according to the effort’s website. There are rallies planned at the state Capitol in Hartford, as well as in New Haven, Waterbury, Bridgeport, Westport, Stamford, Middletown, Manchester and New London.
