It may be over a decade old, but it's worth adding third-person action/shooter game Dark Sector to your Steam account for free while you can.

The upcoming Warframe 1999 expansion is heavily inspired by Cold War shooter Dark Sector, and Digital Extremes is giving it away for free.

Dark Sector, the third-person shooter that Digital Extremes launched for Windows PCs in 2009, is available to claim for free on Steam until November 30 at 9:00 a.m., according to a new promo that can currently be found on the game's Steam page.

Obviously Warframe is the flagship title in the Digital Extremes library. The looter-shooter 's mass success and continued appeal is impossible to deny. As Warframe: 1999 inches closer, the game just continues to try new things (some that don't always work out) and is still on my personal list of F2P games just done right.
