A semi-truck crashed Tuesday afternoon on a Metro Detroit interstate, causing several interstate ramps and a nearby roadway to close. The crash happened around 2:35 p.m. on I-94 at Merriman Road near the Detroit Metro Airport. All lanes of travel have since reopened.

DETROIT – A crash involving a semi has closed East I-94 at Merriman Road near the Detroit airport. The crash occurred on Tuesday (Jan. 28) at 2:35 p.m. The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.

According to MSP, a preliminary investigation showed the semi driving east on I-94 when he lost control, crashed into the center median guardrail and fell onto Merriman Road. The semi-driver then struck the median divider wall on Merriman Road before his trailer overturned.
