DETROIT -- Eugenio Suárez still remembers June 7, 2014, the day he got his first MLB hit and first MLB homer with one swing of the bat against Boston Red Sox starter Jon Lester. Suárez was 22 years old, a shortstop then, wearing the Old English D at Comerica Park.

There was plenty of drama during the first game of the Arizona-Detroit series on Monday night, though it had little to do with the outcome. The Tigers and Diamondbacks will play the second game of the three-game series on Tuesday evening in Detroit.

Eugenio Suarez left the game after getting hit by a pitch on Monday. The Tigers have reportedly shown interest in trading for him.
