Part of that excitement comes from Schmidt’s resume. Schmidt’s purpose — echoed by Schmidt, athletic director Bill Chaves and UND President Andrew Armacost on Wednesday — is to lead UND to Missouri Valley Football Conference titles and FCS national championship berths.
