The recall follows a January investigation​ by U.S. auto safety regulators into reports of engine failure in certain GM vehicles.

General Motors is recalling nearly 600,000 vehicles across its Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands in the U.S. due to potential manufacturing defects that can cause engine failure. The recall covers certain Cadillac Escalades and Escalade ESVs;

General Motors posted strong financial results for its first quarter on Tuesday, but says it will reassess its full-year financial outlook due to auto tariffs.

The automaker is pushing back its conference call to discuss its guidance and quarterly results until Thursday, so that it can assess potential tariff changes.
