With temperatures rising to around 86 degrees in Fairbanks, residents in Alaska got their first-ever heat advisory.

For the first time, the state known for glaciers, dogsledding and northern lights issued a heat advisory, with Fairbanks pushing the mid-80s.

The National Weather Service issued the first heat advisory in the state of Alaska as temperatures soared to 80°F, prompting flood warnings.
