Hersheypark’s wave pool on Thursday, where a 9-year-old girl died, was teeming with people trying to stay cool as temperatures rose into the 90s, according to an eyewitness who spoke with PennLive.

Officials say a nine-year-old child died at the waterpark in Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The area “remain closed” after the incident “out of respect for the family and deep appreciation of our team members who worked so valiantly in their efforts to save the life of the guest.”
