The No. 21 Illinois Fighting Illini face the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisc.

Andrej Stojakovic scored 20 points, Keaton Wagler had 19 and No. 8 Illinois beat Long Island 98-58 on Saturday. David Mirkovic had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Illini (5-1), who bounced back nicely after losing to No. 11 Alabama in Chicago on Wednesday night. Kylan Boswell added 11 points.

Luke Altmeyer rushed 12 yards into the end zone, bringing the Illinois Fighting Illini even with the Wisconsin Badgers.

Alabama's coach said one of Ty Simpson's interceptions against Eastern Illinois actually came from a correct decision.

The most lopsided stat of the night came on the glass. Illinois dominated the rebounding battle 40-22, overwhelming LIU with size, length and physicality. Beyond pure talent, though, this was an energy and effort game. The Illini boxed out, smothered the paint and created a steady stream of second-chance opportunities.

Wagler, Illinois’ offensive rebound leader, continues his strong start to the season, finishing with 19 points on 7-10 shooting. The six-foot-six, 186-pound guard also racked up four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.

Wisconsin is coming off a 31-7 loss to Indiana that turned ugly after a 10-7 game at halftime. The Badgers defense fought hard, sacking Fernando Mendoza five times, but Indiana’s passing attack broke open with explosive plays as Mendoza finished with 299 yards and four touchdowns on 22/24 passing.
