More bodies buried under the mud have been found in eastern Uganda and an injured person died in a hospital, bringing the death toll from this week's landslides to 20.

The death toll from a landslide triggered by heavy rain in eastern Uganda has climbed to 17, a government spokesperson said on Friday, with more than 100 others missing.

At least 15 people have died and 113 others are still missing after landslides buried homes in six villages in eastern Uganda, police said.
