Thousands have gathered throughout the Portland metro area for “No Kings” rallies on Saturday to protest the Trump administration ahead of a Washington military parade marking the Army’s 250th anniversary as well as the president’s birthday.
Several hundred protesters gathered outside the ICE facility Saturday afternoon and evening. Portland police declared it a riot.
Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson released a statement Sunday addressing ICE protests following the No Kings demonstration in the city.
