Lady Gaga is returning to Rio de Janeiro for a concert seven years after having to cancel her performance at Rock in Rio after being hospitalized in Brazil for "severe physical pain."

Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will perform a free concert on Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on May 3. “I’ve been dying to come perform for you for years and was heartbroken when I had to cancel years ago because I was hospitalized,” Gaga said Friday on social media.

Eight years after she was forced to pull out of Rock in Rio due to severe medical issues, Lady Gaga is finally coming back to Brazil. On Friday (Feb. 21), the superstar announced a special Mayhem on the Beach performance at the capital's Praia de Copacabana.
