Over the weekend, the threat of salmonella triggered the recall of 10,000 cartons of organic eggs sold at Costco and whole cucumbers sold in 28 states.

Walmart, Wegmans and Albertsons stores have recalled cucumbers for possible contamination with salmonella. They were sold in more than half of states.

A national cucumber recall has been issued after nearly 70 cases of salmonella were reported in 19 states, including one in New York, according to the CDC. SunFed’s whole fresh American cucumbers, linked to the outbreak, were distributed to states nationwide. The contamination has led to 18 hospitalizations but no deaths.
