A storm that generated a tornado warning in Vernon County, Missouri, Wednesday morning tore through the town of Nevada, leaving at least one person injured and storm damage throughout the city.

NEAR WEST PLAINS, Mo. (KY3) -A National Weather Service survey team confirmed an EF-1 tornado caused damage southwest of West Plains Wednesday afternoon. The tornado stayed on the ground for 1.13 miles. It started near Highway JJ and traveled to County Road 8800.

Power has been restored to all but about 300 customers, and help is being offered to those working on rebuilding.
