President Donald Trump said Sunday that the U.S. will delay implementation of a 50% tariff on goods from the European Union from June 1 until July 9 to buy time for negotiations with the bloc.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. — President Donald Trump said Sunday that he would delay tariffs that were set to be imposed next week on the European Union until July 9.

The president said Sunday he’s agreed to delay a 50% tariff on the EU that he threatened last week, after saying negotiations with the commission were “going nowhere.”
