Hundreds of demonstrators, many of whom traveled from neighboring counties, lined Highland Avenue and Main Street, carrying signs, waving various flags, and shouting chants as cars passing by honked....

“It’s about the contrast,” said Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, one of the groups participating in the event.

“Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America,” Trump added.

Gov. Tim Walz said the attack appears to be "targeted political violence."

"We must all, in Minnesota and across the country, stand against all forms of political violence," Walz said at a news conference Saturday.
