There is a new highest-paid tight end in the NFL. That title now belongs to George Kittle, who agreed to a mammoth four-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, according to the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirms.

Tight end George Kittle, who was entering the final year of a deal he signed in 2020 with the 49ers, said Tuesday on the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast that he signed a four-year, $76.4 million extension.

The 49ers disappointingly finished last in the NFC West with a 6-11 record, but Kittle was one of the team's few bright spots. He put forth a strong season with 78 catches for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns across 15 games on his way to earning his sixth career Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors.
