The Dallas Cowboys are actively looking for a replacement for Matt Eberflus, who was fired as defensive coordinator on Tuesday.

Going off Dallas’ recent track record, the next defensive coordinator will likely have previous NFL head coaching experience. That has been the case since 2014 when Rod Marinelli took over that role. It carried on with Mike Nolan, Dan Quinn, Mike Zimmer, and then Eberflus.

The Dallas Cowboys are beginning the process of finding their new defensive coordinator, with three interviews scheduled.

Matt Eberflus has taken the fall for the Cowboys. The front office decided to relieve the 55-year-old of his duties as the team’s defensive coordinator after just one season. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys brass are now looking for Eberflus’ successor, and they are wasting no time in doing so.
