Holiday surge pushes Powerball to sixth-largest jackpot ever, $1.25 billion: odds, payout and drawing time
With the holidays in full swing and wish lists growing longer, the Powerball jackpot has ballooned into one of the largest prizes in the game’s history after 44 straight drawings without a winner — giving players nationwide a shot at a life changing jackpot this holiday season.
The winning ticket was sold at Rutter’s, located at 2800 Vine Street in Londonderry Township. It matched four white balls and the Powerball — 23, 35, 59, 63, 68, and red Powerball 2 — and included the $1 Power Play option. Because the Power Play multiplier drawn was four, the ticket’s $50,000 prize increased to $200,000.
