The official opening ceremony for the River Tay salmon fishing season is to take place at Meikleour on Thursday.

The species is not native to the River Tay, but can be found in fish farms and both natural and man-made fisheries.

The River Deveron salmon season will be opened by TV presenter Anne McAlpine and world Spey casting champion Scott Mackenzie.
