Liverpool has agreed a deal worth up to $157 million (£116 million) including add-ons for the Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, though the transfer is still to be officially confirmed.

Wirtz had grown up in a family that refused to compromise his development, nor that of his sister Juliane, who plays for Werder Bremen. His father Hans remains the chairman of Grun-Weiss Brauweiler, Wirtz's childhood was framed around the local football team. He grew up with a ball attached to his feet.

Liverpool has agreed to pay a transfer fee of 116 million pounds ($157 million) for Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
