Clemson’s season came to a disappointing end Sunday with a 16-4 loss to Kentucky in an NCAA Regional elimination game at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers committed seven errors — their most all season — leading to five unearned runs, as Kentucky scored in five of the first six innings and built an insurmountable lead.

The loss dropped Clemson to 1-2 in regional play and marked the sixth time in the last seven occasions the Tigers have hosted a regional that they’ve failed to advance. Head coach Erik Bakich has now seen his team eliminated at home in two of his first three seasons in charge.
