Amongst an avalanche of new SUV launches, this year has seen a steady influx of new sedans. At the volume end of the segment, it has been the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the new Honda Amaze which have given buyers more options in the sub Rs 15 lakh space.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze are two of the most popular models in the Indian sub compact sedan market.

Looks like the winds are coming back to the compact sedan space. After Maruti Suzuki launched the new Dzire in November, Honda Cars India has now joined the game with the third-generation Amaze. Both vehicles have enough to put up strong fights against each other.

When the introductory prices of 3rd Gen Amaze ends, the price gap from the 2nd Gen model rises, making it more accessible for buyers.

At the Amaze launch, Honda President and CEO Takuya Tsumura took a veiled dig at the Dzire, saying that other models in the segment cater to the commercial taxi requirements in a big way.
