Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, co-heads of the Department of Government Efficiency, have suggested they’ll make cuts in key government departments, including the Pentagon.

Musk—the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and owner of X (formerly Twitter)—was quoted in Trump's announcement as saying that DOGE "will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!"

The newly established commission known as DOGE is run by two Trump loyalists. Musk claims the organization will have a "leaderboard" for wasteful government spending.
