President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday that he will nominate retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg to serve as assistant to the president and special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.Kellogg is one of the architects of a staunchly conservative policy book that lays out an “America First” national security agenda for the incoming administration.

Keith Kellogg was appointed Wednesday as a special envoy to Ukraine and Russia. He served during the first Trump administration as chief of staff of the National Security Council.

In June, Reuters reported that General Keith Kellogg proposed Donald Trump a plan that would cease military aid to Ukraine unless it agrees to hold peace negotiations with Russia.
