Volunteers met at the Kurtz Bros, Inc. in Avon on Sunday to create luminary bags for the memorial in front of the Lorain Police Department set up to honor fallen Officer Phil Wagner.

The funeral for Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner, who was shot in Lorain while on a lunch break with fellow officers, has been announced.
A vigil outside the Lorain Police Department has grown steadily since Wednesday, when three officers were shot in an ambush-style attack.
Around 4 p.m. Friday, a procession was held from Cleveland to North Ridgeville in honor of Lorain police officer Phillip Wagner.
Rockin’ On The River is part of the annual summer concert series in Lorain, but Friday’s concert turned into a benefit when the promoters decided to donate a portion of the proceeds to help the Lorain officers’ loved ones.
