Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi led much of the race after starting from pole position before Marquez pounced. The Italian then succumbed to charging Gresini Ducati rider Fermin Aldeguer, who took his best MotoGP result with second place.

A “small issue” with his Aprilia RS-GP struck Marco Bezzecchi while he was leading the Austrian MotoGP. Bezzecchi led the opening 19 laps of the race ahead of Marc Marquez, but fell back to third, also behind the late-charging Fermin Aldeguer, in the closing third of the Austrian MotoGP.
