The Philadelphia Phillies get their lockdown closer for the bullpen in a trade with the Minnesota Twins for reliever Jhoan Duran.

The Phillies acquired elite closer Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins in a blockbuster trade for Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait.

Phillies fans were looking forward to seeing both when the team’s new closer, Jhoan Duran, would come on to pitch for the first time after being acquired in a July 30 trade with the Twins. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred described his recent confrontation with Phillies star Bryce Harper related to looming labor negotiations as "not all that significant" when asked about the matter Friday in Chicago.

Manfred: “It was an individual picking a particular way to express himself. And I don’t think you need to make more out of that than that."

Tarik Skubal won his first game since June and Javier Baez homered, doubled and knocked in four runs as the Tigers beat the Phillies 7-5.
