Even if you don't care about streaming, it's a sign of what's to come with the rumored handheld PlayStation 6.
The PlayStation Portal is the rare product that launched as a truly baffling device, but has evolved into something genuinely useful. At first, it could only stream games from your PlayStation 5, it lacked core features for a handheld like Bluetooth audio and it felt a bit overpriced at $200 for such a limited product.
Sony's latest PlayStation Portal handheld will soon be able to stream games directly from the cloud, breaking its exclusive Remote Play functionality.
As I'm having a mini break again soon, I'll test the Portal remotely again and find out if the upgrade has changed anything in that regard. As things stand though, I can honestly say that this could have become the handheld of the moment.
