Nearly 150,000 people across southern states from Texas to South Carolina were without power Sunday morning, according to poweroutage.us.
The storm threat, however, increases by the end of Thunder UP in the Park and the start of pregame activities around 5 p.m. There's a potential for severe storms and heavy rain through the early evening and into the nighttime hours. At 3:20 p.m., Carteret-Craven Electric Co-op (CCEC) crews were on the way to outages impacting around 2,800 members in the Havelock area, including those in the area of Lake Road, Webb Blvd, Sunset Dr., and Bryan Blvd.
