Miami quarterback Cam Ward is likely headed to New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist in December, and there’s a slew of other ACC players who may hear their name as award winners.

The reasons why SMU wouldn’t want to play Miami are obvious. The Hurricanes have the best offense in the nation, averaging 44.7 points per game, and they’re led by a Heisman candidate quarterback in Cam Ward, who ranks second in the nation in passing (3,774 yards). But in some ways, Miami could be a more favorable matchup for SMU.
