The Netbeans Java IDE has released its first long-term support (LTS) version a year after the Apache Software Foundation promoted it to a top-level Apache project.

Apache NetBeans 12.0 adds support for the latest Java features, integrates new code donations from Oracle for Java Web development and many improvements.

The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) announced the availability of NetBeans 11.3, the third update of the popular Java-based IDE in its recently implemented quarterly release cycle.

Oracle has proposed contributing the NetBeans IDE to the Apache Software Foundation via the Apache Incubator Project.
