The Jaguars fired head coach Doug Pederson on Monday following Jacksonville’s Week 18 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and the franchise’s 4-13 2024 season, team owner Shad Khan announced in a statement. The Jaguars are retaining general manager Trent Baalke, who will assist Khan in finding a new head coach, the statement read.

Since that playoff season and an 8-3 start last year, Pederson and the Jaguars imploded. Jacksonville is 5-18 since briefly holding the No. 1 seed in the AFC last season. He ends his time in Jacksonville with a 22-29 record in the regular season and 1-1 in the playoffs.

The Jaguars had an exciting young quarterback in Trevor Lawrence and needed a professional at head coach after the Urban Meyer debacle.
With a 22-29 record over three seasons, Pederson’s 42 percent win rate puts him as the third-best Jaguars coach in history.
Doug Pederson, whose offense scored 41 points against the greatest coach in football history while having a backup quarterback out there in Super Bowl LII, was fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday.
