The Houston Fire Department is mourning the loss of an active duty firefighter who they say was close to retiring.

A video sent to ABC13 showed water gushing from a construction zone area in the roadway, which was slowly becoming submerged.

The city is grieving the loss of Engineer Operator/Paramedic Troy Steinberg, who passed away on January 23 after 34 years of service with the Houston Fire Department.
