It appears that both the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders are making an aggressive push to land wide receiver Deebo Samuel via trade.
Samuel did have some appeal for a connection with the Texans. Earlier reports from The Athletic detailed Houston and the Denver Broncos as preferred destinations for the now-former 49ers pass catcher, but in the end, he joined up in Washington with a surging group led by Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels.
According to multiple reports, the San Francisco 49ers are shipping the Pro Bowl receiver off to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round pick. The deal naturally can't go through until the start of the new league year on March 12, but the groundwork has been laid.
