The Supreme Court on Tuesday said emergency measures under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to deal with air pollution will continue in Delhi for the time being. A bench of Justices A S Oka and A G Masih also left it to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to take a decision on reopening schools (classes IV and upwards) and other educational institutions.

The Supreme Court on Monday urged the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to consider resuming physical classes in schools and colleges in Delhi-NCR. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih highlighted the challenges faced by students and noted that many lacked access to mid-day meals and adequate infrastructure for online education.
