The Humane Society says there are no federal regulations in regard to the care of animals slaughtered and farmed for fur. The Grand River Fur Exchange was licensed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Humane Society says, but the state also does not have laws or standards for fur farms.

Over the last few days, the Wisconsin Human Society (WHS) has taken steps to address a challenging situation involving the rescue of 73 cats from a single household. According to a Facebook post from the WHS,

Wisconsin Humane Society is trying to rehome more than 70 cats seized from a home in Ozaukee County, the humane society said Tuesday in a Facebook post.
