The Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) has introduced a new Spay & Neuter Assistance Program to combat the constant overpopulation issue in the animal shelter.

Gerard Harris has been arrested and charged with cruelty to animals in connection with the shooting death of Olive, a pit bull found tied to a tree with multiple gunshot wounds.

Gerard Leon Harris, 44, of Patterson, is accused of abusing Olive, a pit bull which was found shot, tied to a tree and left to die March 6.
