An emergency declaration has been issued for residents on Queensland's Fraser Coast after the region was smashed by heavy rain. Hervey Bay copped more than 230 millimetres of rain in six hours.

The community of Hervey Bay is recovering from flooding brought ... clothing and medicine. Fraser Coast mayor George Seymour said it was concerning to see community members displaced.
