A rideshare driver was fatally shot early Wednesday in south Houston by two men who police said stole the vehicle, drove it into a ditch and fled the scene.

A rideshare driver was shot and killed in south Houston during a carjacking early Wednesday morning by two suspects, police say.

The car owner told police he went inside to grab a gun, and when he came out, the man was sitting in the driver's seat. Officers said they found the man dead on arrival with gunshot wounds inside a Kia Spectra.
