James Cameron is not handing over Pandora just yet! Despite earlier buzz, the Avatar Mastermind has confirmed he’s staying on board to guide the Franchise’s future.

James Cameron says that he is healthy enough to direct both Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 - which are scheduled for release in 2029 and 2031 respectively.

That said, while Cameron fully intends to direct the upcoming Avatar 4 and 5 himself right now, he’s aware that things might change over the next half-decade, and he might not ultimately be able to do so.
