President Trump has come under fire from a section of his MAGA base over his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Trump has scolded reporters, claimed ignorance and offered distractions in an effort to quash questions about Epstein and the suspicions still swirling around the disgraced financier's case years after his 2019 death in prison. The demand for answers has only grown.

President Donald Trump suggested focusing on former President Bill Clinton and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case amid controversy over sealed investigation materials.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy Todd Blanche informed Trump in May that his name appeared multiple times in the Epstein files that the Department of Justice and the FBI reviewed.

Trump has repeatedly denied prior knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and claimed he cut off their relationship long ago. For a president skilled at manipulating the media and controlling the Republican Party, it has been the most challenging test of his ability to shift the conversation in his second term.

The president gets low marks for his handling of the scandal. But polls suggest other issues are driving the popularity dip.

O’Reilly on Friday also said the “usually pretty accurate” Wall Street Journal, which reported on an alleged birthday letter Trump wrote to Epstein for his 50th birthday, was part of “the dishonest, corrupt corporate media” trying to “convince Americans that Donald Trump had access to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and may have participated.”

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who has been a target of recent attacks from Trump, also swooped in: “The president won’t rule out a pardon for a convicted child sex trafficker and Epstein’s co-conspirator. Says he is allowed to do it. Nothing suspicious about that...”
