A big preseason story about the Philadelphia 76ers was whether their stars would rest on back-to-backs. They probably didn't imagine they wouldn't get back-to-back wins until Dec. 3.

The Charlotte Hornets were bounced from the NBA Cup prematurely, failing to get out of the group stage for the second consecutive year. Following another nail-biting loss last night, their fate was sealed.

The Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic are the Eastern Conference teams that advanced to the knockout stage. The Knicks advanced as the No. 2 seed and the Magic as the conference’s wild card out of the East Group A bracket.
