Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter, who also owns Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers, is acquiring the storied NBA team in a move that makes it the world’s most valuable sports franchise.

The search for a starting center for the Los Angeles Lakers has started. It’s one of the team’s main concerns from last year, after their attempt to add Mark Williams via trade didn’t work out.

The majority stake of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball franchise is being sold in a historic deal worth an estimated $10 billion (£7.45b). The Buss family has owned the team - one of the most iconic in sports globally - since 1979 and now has reportedly made a deal with TWG Global CEO Mark Walter.
