The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has demanded capital punishment for those responsible for the killing of 24-year-old Tripura student Angel Chakma in Dehradun and sought direct intervention from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In a memorandum, NESO stated that Angel was assaulted and stabbed on December 9 and succumbed to his injuries on December 26 after remaining hospitalised for over two weeks. His brother, Michael Chakma, was also assaulted during the incident. NE
